Depaul USA - Macon, Macon Housing Authority, and In-Fill Housing teamed up to build 82 affordable apartments and the new Phil J. and Alice Sheridan Health Center for all those experiencing homelessness in the Macon community. The official opening will take place on May 20th from 2-3 pm with members of all three organizations present to welcome the first tenants. Thank you for all of the support whilst developing such a tremendous project. We look forward to seeing all of the good it will do.

Earlier that day, Daybreak will unveil a new sculpture outside of its building. "Sheltering," by the acclaimed Canadian sculptor, Timothy Schmalz, was blessed by Pope Francis in St. Peter's Square and represents the duty one has to assist the marginalized in society. Represented through a flying dove draping a blanket over a homeless individual, 'Sheltering' promotes the Vincentian Family's "13 Houses Campaign" to help provide material and spiritual help to those experiencing homelessness. You can view Timothy Schmalz's work through his website here. Additionally, he will be selling miniature versions of this statue following the opening on May 20.
