Depaul USA St. Louis supports people experiencing homelessness. Our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and a stake in the community. In St. Louis, Project MORE and PLUS provide over 70 units of permanent supportive housing to individuals who were chronically homeless. In October 2017, Lazare House opened to house 15 chronically homeless individuals between the age of 18 to 24 years old.
Registration and packet pick-up is 8 a.m. at the shelter house on the day of the run/walk. 5K run will begin at 9 a.m. and 1 mile walk will happen around 9:10 a.m. at the Sons of the Rest Shelter House near Grand and Arsenal in South St. Louis City. Race will take place in the historic Tower Grove Park. First and Second Place overall prizes to both men and women. First, Second and Third Place for each age group (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+). Food will be provided after the run/walk in Tower Grove Park in South St. Louis City and we encourage individuals to dress up as their favorite Wizard of Oz character.
$25 to sign up with guarantee of shirt before September 15th. Option to sign up for family of four for $75 ($15 for each additional member) before September 15th. Email steve.wiederkehr@depaulusa.org for more information.
